Road rides and social spins in the Eastern Suburbs
Thursday Social ride β itβs the best day of the week, always featuring plenty of newcomers and our welcoming ride leaders.
From dawn bunch rides to relaxed weekend spins, Bondi's cycling clubs make the most of Sydney's coastline and the quiet early-morning roads. The clubs listed here meet regularly, ride at a range of paces, and welcome everyone from nervous newcomers to seasoned roadies.
Riding in a bunch is safer, faster, and a lot more fun than riding alone. Bondi's cycling clubs offer the camaraderie of a group, the slipstream of a peloton, and local knowledge of the best and safest routes. They're also one of the friendliest ways to explore the coast β usually finishing, of course, with a well-earned coffee.
Most bunch rides leave at dawn to beat the traffic, often between 5:30am and 6:30am, with longer social rides on weekends. Pace and distance vary by group β some are no-drop social spins, others are spirited training rides. Check each club's card above for the meeting time and ride style.
Routes typically head out along the coast, through Centennial Park, or south towards the national park, depending on the group and the distance. Meeting points are usually a well-known cafΓ© or landmark β the specific spot is listed on each club above.
A roadworthy bike, a helmet (mandatory in NSW), and the confidence to ride in a group on open roads. Beginners are welcome at no-drop social rides β just let the group know it's your first time. Some clubs are free and others are paid; the price is shown on each card. Follow the club on Instagram for ride updates and route changes.
